INTRODUCTION
Cultural diversity is the cultural variety and cultural differences
that exist in the world , a society or an institution . “Cultural diversity” phrase
can also refer to having different cultures respect each other's differences.
The phrase "cultural diversity" is also sometimes used to mean the
variety of human societies or cultures in a specific region, or in the world as
a whole, the inclusion of diverse people in a group or organization tp embrace
cultural diversity in the workplace.
THREE TOPICES DID
I ENJOY IN CLASS
The
first class I have enjoyed was on October 21, 2013 about (Ethnocentrism)
Ethnocentrism is
the tendency to believe that one’s ethic or cultural group is centrally
important, & that all other groups are measured in relation to one’s own
particular ethnic group or culture, especially with concern to language,
behavior, customs & religion.
Why:
it is very important to learn about other cultural lifestyle to know how to
deal with them & we would have the opportunity to learn new ways of seeing
and experiencing life which we never knew existed.

The second class
I have enjoyed was on 31 – OCT – 2013 (High-context culture and low-context
culture).
High-context culture and the contrasting low-context culture are
terms presented by the anthropologist Edward. It refers to a culture's tendency to use
high-context messages over low-context messages in routine communication. This
choice of speaking styles translates into a culture that will cater to
in-groups, an in-group being a group that has similar experiences and
expectations, from which inferences are drawn. In a lower-context culture.
Why:
because I will learn & going to be aware how to use high and low contrast
talking styles .
The third class did I have enjoyed was on November 24, 2013 (Coke ad called racist)
Racism is
generally defined as actions, practices, or beliefs that consider the human
species to be divided into races with shared traits, abilities, or qualities
such as personality ‘morality or other behavioral characteristics.
Why: I will gain more knowledge about advertisers how it
would affect in community.
Why it is Important for students to learn culture..?
It is very important for Students learning other cultures
in order to know how to deal & communicate with other people, also knowing
more about different cultures will also lead people to understand & respect
other people in terms of their religion, attitude & behavior.
The best age to learn
cultural diversity
In my personal point of view, learning culture diversity
would be more affective starting from 16 and above because this age is the
beginning of youth engagement within the community whereas starting from this
age he/she can explore the communication with the variety of different level of
communities.
The
UAE Harmony Day
I
think it would be the best to celebrate the UAE Harmony during the month
of UAE National day in order to show how
important this day would be in parallel
to the importance of the national
day celebration, this celebration should
be implemented annually as this practice will enhance people to respect all
ration ships between each other.
The
UAE Harmony advertising poster would be “Two Hundred Nationalities in a
Country”
In
conclusion
Cultural
diversity should be built on the principal of respecting the differences in
point of views, considering this principal will surely result having an
enhancement of viewing different cultures.
